The snow came in a little earlier than expected. Most businesses closed up early as did Mallory and Calen’s school. So we picked them up and brought them home and enjoyed the view. My grandmother went into the hospital with strep pnuemonia, which hasn’t been good. News from Hickory has been better since yesterday morning, which is a blessing. Please keep her in your prayers as she hopefully recovers. The weather being what it is, I can’t make it there to be with the family, which is discouraging.
That being said, we made the best of it and had some good friends over for dinner and games. It took Mallory a few minutes to warm up, but as you’ll see in the video, she did indeed warm up.
We woke up this morning to more ice than snow. Overnight, the snow turned to freezing rain, so there is a sheet of ice over the snow from yesterday. Mallory and I went down the street to a hill where we did some sledding with those same friends (Bryson, Heather, Jackson and Carson) as well as our next door neighbor Steve and their little girl Piper. It was great. Mallory had a good time and is now sleeping soundly. No arguments this time about a nap… sounds like a good idea to me too… so I’ll post some videos of the whole thing, and maybe give it a go myself.
